For this project I modelled my ideal dreamhouse in Blender, including textures and an environment.
Modelling
To start this project off, I started sketching a dream house on paper. I did this so I can get a clear view on what I exactly want to model.
Then it was time to move onto Blender. I started modelling this house out of a simple cube and a 10-cornered cylinder.
On top of this block-out, I added more and more details. This includes windows, railing for the balcony and a chimney.
I added a front yard and a terrace on the backside of the house.
Lastly I added the doors (gotten from Quixel) and some stepping stones.
Texturing
Then it was time to move onto texturing and adding foliage. For the textures I used quixel, but for the foliage I used a blender plugin called 'Forestation'.
Once the model was done, the textures added and the foliage imported, it is time for the render shots.
Render shots
Personal goals I worked on during this project:
- Uses the right software professionally.
- Asking for feedback and advice.

What I could improve next time:
- Planning my process

I really liked how this project turned out. This wasn't my first time modelling a place, last year I worked on modelling a bedroom which felt about the same as this project. One thing I did enjoy to learn is to paint with one texture upon another. I did this with the floor and I feel like it adds more to the texturing than if I left it being grass entirely.
Sadly, we had a secondary personal assignment where I assigned myself to try out hard-surface modelling. Even though I learned the basics of such modelling through tutorials, I didn't create an end result. Instead of that, I worked on a 3D internship assignment. This was done within a lesson but I am proud with how it turned out considering the time limit.
