HUTEL RUGER
Hutel Ruger is an exhibition by the ceramist/sculptor Roger Coll, a young artist who reinterprets ceramic tradition and elevates it to the category of sculptural art.
The exhibition takes place in a multipurpose room within the Keramik festival. To provide context for the sculptural pieces, the room is transformed into a hotel room.
The name 'Hutel Ruger' plays with the spelling error of 'Hotel' and 'Roger' to exemplify the fact that it is not a hotel but a different type of space.
To communicate the event, we look for an element that transports us to the imagery of a hotel. We decide to work with a keychain used in American motels and adopt this simple yet elegant aesthetic. The artist recreates a ceramic keychain, which will be given to one of the visitors at the end of the exhibition."
