Jessica Walsh Poster

This was an assignment I created in my Graphic Design I class, where we were instructed to research an influential graphic designer and create a museum poster featuring an exhibit of theirs in their style.

For this assignment, I chose Jessica Walsh as my graphic designer. I researched her background in school and early career to give a presentation to my class. During the research and thorough investigation of her work, I discovered her use of set design, face painting, and typography, and I knew I needed to implement this in my design. I positioned a frame in front of her to draw attention to her portrait and applied a gradient map inside the frame to add interest. I applied the pencil lines to provide hand-drawn and texture aspects to the piece. I added her name in her signature as a nod to her typography work and positioned the textured rectangle behind the information to help with legibility.

During this assignment, I utilized Photoshop, which I haven't used in many of my past projects. This assignment was eye-opening because it showed me new styles and techniques.
