01: Shoe Design & Creation
depending on the design it was really important for me not to create an everyday shoe, that means there was a rough art direction. So I began to take inspiration from any silhouette out there, to create abstract sculptures that resemble a sole. It turned out that the main core of the shoe was to combine rubber with farbic and to create a "third sole held by something" a so-called unorthodox shoe. 
Since the creation had a lot to do with the design process, that's partly how the base sole came about, the next step was to create the fabric, created in CLO 3D.



02: Environment 
The environment I have to thank the dear Christian Domeny who has created a beautiful handcrafted landscape to match the theme, to add a a bit of Contrast a spicy mint-green was added to the Texture. Regarding the look, I have met a suitable mood regarding the shoe.



04: Foam Tearing 
Around the holding part there was something that needed to be filled with. I ended up using a foam that holds the gap between the bottom sole and the top sole. Technically the fibers tear at whoever there is some pressure on, which is why I decided to create a setup based on tearing. 



03: Procedural Sole System
The last step of the creation of the shoe was the sole.
Side FX Houdini allowed me to create a procedural system of the sole, this was created by VOPs (a node based system), it's a bunch of noises that add each other and thus came out this wonderful pattern. Since houdini masters the power of the procedural system, it was also not a problem to animate the sole and the texture.



06: Grain Stamp Setup
Started to come up with this beatiful Stamp idea, since the procedural sole had a beatiful structure and depth, it would be a shame to miss out on that. So I've started to create the Vellum Grain Setup in Houdini and tried to use my Sole as my Collision, from a very basic Volumetric Cube into a beatiful sand/snow stamp. There for i played a lot with the Attraction weight, I also had to go with a HQ Simulation since i wanted to create CloseUp Shots.     29 934 717 Million Points was animated.
