In art, appropriation is the use of pre-existing items or images with little or no alteration. I picked Raja Ravi Varma's paintings and used digital medium to recreate them in my own style. His paintings are all done by hand and are all realistic; the main objective of the project is to present his paintings in an unrealistic manner. To make it apparent what the picture is, I created these paintings using line art and abstract techniques like hand brush strokes.
