–––

A collection of playful, clever and colourful illustrations for Quanta magazine's puzzle column.

Over the last three years I worked with Quanta magazine to provide illustrations for their regular puzzle insights column. The puzzles, which came out five times a year, offered a selection of fiendishly difficult and playfully original maths based puzzles for readers to try and solve. Each puzzle was based on a different premise and included topics such as; the best way to escape a bear, working out how to fairly split a pizza, how to design a perpetual energy machine, and how to win at Wordle.

It was my role to bring these puzzles to life visually, in a clever and concise way. The puzzle column has now come to an end, but I absolutely loved working with Quanta on these over the years, and always looked forward to the moment when a new puzzle brief would appear in my inbox.

You can see all the puzzles, along with my illustrations, here.
