«Little Joys» - series of art-objects

The 'Little Joys' series of art objects

Happiness often seems to be out of reach and ephemeral. In the race of life, we don't realise how happy we are and how much we have right now.

We wake up in a clean, soft bed, see a piece of the sky through the curtains, hear the clinking of dishes as someone makes coffee, smell the baguette and butter. That's happiness!
You can always go for a walk in the park or in the woods. It's fresh there, it smells piney, needles and leaves crunch underfoot, we pick fresh blueberries, eat raspberries straight from the bush, or pick cones, watch the sun shine through the branches - it's happiness! Evening in the room with a balcony, the slight breeze moves the window leaf, it creaks and clatters, we drink wine or tea, wrapped in a blanket, we read our favorite book, the sun shines with pink light all around. This is happiness!

Through subjective perception of happiness, artist Yulia Kachur proves to the viewer that we need very little to be happy. The task of the project is to draw the viewer's attention to the sources of joy available to everyone. Through visual, tactile and sound images, we place the viewer in those moments of life that we experience every day and that bring pleasure and are available to everyone, but that we ignore, pass by, devalue.

The project consists of several parts, each describing a moment in everyday life. By interacting with the objects, the viewer immerses themselves in the moment, or perhaps in the memory suggested by the artist, transferring the experience of their sensations from real life into the sensations of the interaction
