The Emirates apps | iPad, iPhone & Android

Employer: Tigerspike

I was involved on the full cycle of this project, starting with the requirements workshop till the first release of the iPad app.

The app allows travellers to search 130 Emirates destinations, book flights, select seats and meals, check-in online, download their boarding pass and manage their Emirates Skywards frequent flyer account. Travellers can also use the app to access Emirates’ ‘Live Flights’ function, which shows the exact position of all Emirates aircrafts currently in the air, as well as to find out more about the Emirates experience, including information on the in-flight entertainment (ICE) offer and onboard dining options. Premium travellers can also use the app to book complimentary chauffeur services.

Project Background:
Tigerspike were engaged to create the Wireframes, Designs and SA / Development consultancy as Emirates looked to launch their first applications across all platforms. (iPad, iPhone and Android phone)

Whilst Emirates were happy to outsource the Design part of the project, their vision included building a mobile development competency in-house.

I was the UX lead on this project. I delivered UX documentation and I worked on all platforms with the help of Matt Homer, Ronan Donohoe, Tony KerchhoffFabien Marry and Nabeel Mousawi.
The UX research was led by Judit Layana.
The UI for the iPad was led by Matt Homer with Alex Lambert, Tony Kerchhoff, Jonathan Macey and Victoria Fox.
The UI for the iPhone and Android handsets were led by Jonathan Macey with Matt Homer,
Tony Kerchhoff and Victoria Fox.
The overall project was managed by Peter Marco with the help of Steve Burrows.
