Photographic Genres — Ghiblifying Singapore
From its captivating and unique art style to its whimsical characters — these are some of the many reasons why people adore Ghibli films so much. Being brought up watching Ghibli movies, they have been an integral part of my childhood. Watching the scenes, I have always wanted to experience what it would be like to live in that whimsical fantasy.
What would happen if Singapore were set in a Ghibli film? — In this photographic series, I recreate Ghibli scenes with a Singaporean twist, I hope to evoke humour and poke at what defines the Singaporean identity by merging it with snippets from 3 Ghibli movies that are well-loved by viewers all around.
