Italians at the Oscars: a new golden age?
This project analyses Italian participation in the Academy Awards according to the language of the film they competed with and grouped by decade.
Participation means the presence of at least one Italian competing in a single category, regardless of the number and nationality of any other team members or the outcome of the nomination. For example, the Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling won in 2017 by Alessandro Bertolazzi and Giorgio Gregorini, competing alongside American Christopher Nelson, counts as a single participation.
