Avenir Next: Wave of the Futura

Project Introduction
For this project, we were asked to pretend that we'd been hired by Fonts.com to create a poster selling a typeface to professional designers. I chose Avenir Next as my typeface because I love the strong, geometric, modern lines that look great in both body text and titles.
Background
Based on Futura and Erbar, Avenir was originally released in 1988 by Swiss designer Adrian Frutiger (for Linotype). It was redesigned in 2004 by Frutiger and Akira Kobiyashi, the type director for Linotype, and released as Avenir Next . It's recognizable throughout the world in products and marketing campaigns for several well-known companies.
Avenir Next LT Pro is available in eight different weights (with roman and italic versions of each) in normal and condensed widths.
Project
For my poster design, I chose to create an asymmetrical composition that conveys the same strong lines as the Avenir Next typeface. The pinwheel layout creates movement and draws the eye in a circular motion to each area of text.
