PROJETO

Professor deu aula sobre alguns assuntos científicos, de forma resumida, a base da aula foi sobre o livro "Planolândia - Um romance de muitas dimensões" de Edwin Abbot, e a partir disso, explicou a "Teoria das 10 Dimensões do Universo".

O objetivo do projeto era: Representar a 10a dimensão do universo de forma bidimensional ou tridimensional, da maneira que quisesse.

PROJECT: The teacher gave for the students a class based on scientific subjects. The basis of the class was on the book "Flatland: a romance of many dimensions" by Edwin Abbot, and from that, he explained the "Theory of the 10 Dimensions of the Universe".The aim of the project was: To represent the 10th dimension of the universe in a two- or three-dimensional way.

Fiz muitas pesquisas, e encontrei 2 referências que foram o ponto de partida para construir meu projeto. 1) Um vídeo do Carl Sagan explicando a 4a dimensão do universo. 2) Vídeo mostrando uma representação da teoria, desde a 1a dimensão até a 12a dimensão. A terceira referência que usei foi uma explicação que o professor deu em aula, que de forma resumida, que "para existir uma dimensão precisa de uma ligação entre 1 ponto e outro..." e assim por diante.

Com essas referências escolhi fazer meu projeto de forma tridimensional.

IDEA: I did a lot of research, and I found 2 references that were the starting point to build my project. 1) A video of Carl Sagan explaining the 4th dimension of the universe. 2) Video showing a representation of the theory, from the 1st dimension to the 12th dimension. The third reference I used was an explanation that the teacher gave in class, which, in summary, was that "for a dimension to exist, there needs to be a connection between 1 point no another..." and so on.With these references I chose to make my project in a three-dimensional way.

PROCESSO

Usei material que encontrei dentro de casa, que foram: Fósforos, pistola de cola quente, cola branca, spray prata metálico, rolos de papelão, jornal, tintas artesanato, escova de dentes, fio de naylon, fita crepe e sacos de terra.

PROCESS: I used material that I found at home, which were: matchsticks, hot glue gun, white glue, metallic silver spray, cardboard rolls, newspaper, craft paints, toothbrush, nylon thread, masking tape and bags of soil.

Fui montando cubos de palitos de fósforo colando os palitos com cola quente, e ligando cada cubo com outro com os palitos também. Fui juntando até completar 128 cubos, assim representando a 10a dimensão. Por fim dessa primeira parte, passei cola branca para deixar a estrutura mais firme e pintei com o spray prata.

Queria que a estrutura fosse suspensa, então peguei os rolos de papelão, juntei passando fita crepe, cobri com jornal, passei cola branca, e pintei com cores do "universo" usando as tintas de artesanato com pincel, e escova de dentes. Dentro dos rolos de base da estrutura, dentro coloquei sacos com terra para que a estrutura não virasse. E dessa maneira finalizei meu projeto.

I was building cubes of matchsticks by gluing the matchsticks with hot glue, and connecting each cube with another one with the matchsticks as well. I kept adding until I had 128 cubes, thus representing the 10th dimension. At the end of this first part, I applied white glue to make the structure firmer and painted it with silver spray.I wanted the structure to be suspended, so I took the cardboard rolls, put them together with masking tape, covered them with newspaper, applied white glue, and painted them with colors from the "universe" using craft paints with a brush and a toothbrush. Inside the base rolls of the structure, I put bags with soil so that the structure does not overturn. And that's how I finished my project.
