I wanted to make an idyllic-looking European sculpture garden in stark contrast to this character. It's always mystifying where an artist finds inspiration. I saw a guy on the subway asleep, holding his pizza sideways. As a consequence, I've depicted the results. The sculpture above him is my favorite piece by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux at The Met. (1865-67)
