Most graphic designers at some point will have to create an infographic.
This excited me as it involved two things I love, art and research.
The Eames are well known pioneers of innovative artistic creation and furniture design. This project was distributed among my classmates and I, and most decided to make infographics on the furniture. To differentiate myself, I decided to create this infographic comparing moments in their life with major artistic works created within the year.
From Picasso, to Rothko to Ansel Adams, many works amassed during the Eames lifetime. In a nod to their use of plywood, I chose this light wood texture and deep engravings in my piece, as well as the dark ink as a nod to printing on wood. I chose American Typewriter and Helvetica to mix modern and retro, as much of the Eames furniture does.
