This was a university brief in collaboration with Born Ugly, a design agency in Leeds. The challenge was to address one of the Ugly Truths affecting today’s society, and how if unchecked, it can lead to doomsday in the future. The challenge is to create an engaging response through design to drive change.
An Ugly Truth
Disposable coffee cups are not recyclable and end up in landfills, which causes air pollution.
My Concept (The Solution)
Imagine an image appearing on your coffee cup whenever your long-distance friend pours coffee in their cup! Mikani is a coffee cup brand that functions like so to encourage reusable cup usage in order to combat disposable cup waste. This includes an app which sends personalised messages, and an interactive photo booth to promote the brand.
