Public Beautification Project: Pune Pillars

Pimpri Chinchwad Mahanagar Palika is a municipal corporation located in the Pune Metropolitan Region of Maharashtra state, India.They have undertaken several beautification projects to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city and create a more pleasant environment for its residents. These projects aim to improve the quality of life, attract tourism and investment, and make the city a more liveable place.
Pola
Pola is a festival of the state of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh which celebrated by the farmers by the worship of the bull. The farmers decorate their bulls and on this day and then worship them to perform in the festival. It is generally a traditional village festival where they show respect to the bulls that help them in their ploughing activities.
Gudi Padwa
According to Hindu lunar calendar, the New Year comes with opening of the month of Chaithra and this first day is celebrated widely as the Gudi Padwa. This is a very special day for Marathi people. Gudi Padwa is a mark of success and hence the Gudi which means the flag, is being held high.
Janmashtami
An annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna. Hindus celebrate Janmashtami by fasting, singing, praying together, preparing and sharing special food, night vigils, and visiting Krishna or Vishnu temples.
Diwali
Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance". The festival is an annual homecoming and bonding period not only for families, but also for communities and associations, particularly those in urban areas, which will organize activities, events and gatherings.
