Connecting your bank account to Wave means automatic transactions import day in day out. This cuts down on manual data entry and leaves the business owner to spend time doing what they really want - instead of getting tangled up in unnecessary paperwork.

A majority of all Wave users connect to one of the top 12 banks in their area. This first step emphasizes the top choices according to the user's geolocation and showcases their logos as an added visual cue. As an alternative, a search bar is included for users whose bank choice is not amongst the top 12 most popular choices in their area.
Some banks tend to have different login site addresses for different offerings. The next step directs the user to login as they would for online banking and provides the site login for the user's online banking platform. This step replicates the security details from the first step. This is the point in the process where the user is most concerned about security - they're about to entrust us with their bank login credentials.
The third step allows the user to choose which one of their accounts they would like to import into their Wave account. The user can toggle accounts ON and OFF and can import them into specific Wave accounts for easy categorization and reporting.
The end of this process drops the user on the "Transactions" screen where all their financial transactions have imported. After monitoring our usage data, it was clear that a significant percentage of our users were connecting more than one bank in one go.
Given our process, they had to finish this step, get dropped into the Transactions screen, and then click Account > Connect your bank account again in order to go back to the beginning of the process. To help fix this, we added the option to go back to the first step to connect a second account.
This change has since resulted in a greater percentage of 1+ bank accounts connected per Wave account.
