Logo and corporate identity
for Anna Akhmatova: Silver Age museum

The museum is dedicated to the life and work of Anna Akhmatova, Nikolai Gumilev and the Silver Age era. It settled down in an apartment block at a distance from St. Petersburg (Russia) cultural center, but is original and has a unique manor atmosphere.
Logo and corporate identity
It was important to make an adaptive and easy to use system that would fit in the specific museum activities. At the same time, visual and semantic content of the identity should relay careful attitude to the historical heritage of the epoch and the poet, cozy atmosphere, and reflect laconism and moderation.
During our research we also found out that nominal museums often have recognizable identity features — autographs, portraits, and iconic fragments of works. On the other hand, memorial complexes and museums use additional graphic elements very gently, and often minimize them. Despite this, we decided to create non-trivial logo and identity concepts.
Lyre as a symbol of poetry
Legend has it that young Anna Akhmatova found the lyre brooch in Tsarskoye Selo. She claimed that Alexander Pushkin had lost this brooch. This was a sign for her to determine a poetic destiny. Besides, the lyre has always been considered to be the symbol of poets. Therefore this musical instrument has formed the basis of the logo.

We have inscribed the letter "A" in the strings of the lyre. It also can be an independent attribute, for example, a social media avatar, a gravure on a small item or an identifier on any other materials.
Rhythmic lines
Lyre strings also represent life lines. Smooth lines, as a graphic technique, symbol and image, become the main elements of the identity. The number of lines may vary.

We chose one of Anna Akhmatova's favorite colors, lilac, as the main corporate color.

An additional design element is full-sized or framed photos with a blue-gray gradient. It is an easy way to freshen images and organically integrate them into corporate style. Rhythmic lines unite the entire composition without interfering with the information and the image.
Summary
Finally we get the style that combines laconic, sustained simplicity with dynamism, liveliness and elegance. The sign and all of the identity convey the artistic and poetic context of the Silver Age.

We believe that the museum will succeed, and are always ready to help. We will definitely follow the future museum events and activities.
