Sequence: Illusions Of You

The main purpose of this project was to make a series of photographs that go together, and convey meaning at the same time. In addition, text is used to change this meaning.  With the main theme of light and shadow as photographs, I have chosen to change this theme with a short piece of writing on the loss of a loved one.

Titled: Illusions Of You
I. Day or night? I don't even know anymore.

When the sun dawns and the sky turns colors, the corners of my lips turn up only then. Because only then, am I able to hold your hand once more, gaze up at the stars and dance in the moonlight with you. Only then do I feel alive.

Nightfall. The time I dread when my mind is infested with thoughts of only you.

II. Sometimes I see shadows of you. The curve of your calves, your back, your lips.

I long for your tenderness. I long for the humid summer days of us rolling in the grass, your laughter echoing through the park, and the sunshine shining upon the bridge of your nose.

III. I live on the black coffee in my veins and the numbed emptiness of my soul.

My only motivation to open my eyes is to close my eyes again at the end of the day.
IV. The smell of your leather jacket, your hair and your perfume.

And all I have left are faded memories of you,
of fleeting moments of the time we spent together.

Rippling, blurring, vanishing.
