Taiwanese impressions
posters
I created these posters from my photos taken during my one year stay in Taiwan, to appreciate the places, and the memories. I wanted to capture the special feelings I got from each place.
The first of the series is a mesh-up photo of Taipei with the emblematic building of Taipei 101, Chang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, and a street photo from the MRT. Taipei has several faces, there are cute narrow alleys, big green spots and monumental, busy places. I aimed to capture this last aspect of the city.

A poster for Lugang. A small, traditional city with many visitors and lively spiritual scene. I wanted to create contrast with these two pictures of the same place. One with no one around, just the peaceful temple, and one to show how it is usually full of people paying a visit to the Gods.

The next one is also from Lugang, but could be any city, because these kind of lampions can be find anywhere. I wanted to express how, as a westerner, many of the Taiwanese sites seem like a fantasy world. So colorful and different from what we are used to.
Another mesh-up of two parks. I spent a lot of time in parks, so I wanted to leave space for them here. There is a photo of a small park at daytime and another park in the city centre at night. You can mostly only see the buildings and city lights that surround the park. I like how nature and city together can create such an interesting feeling.

And the last one from this series is a picture from the mountains, and a handwritten reminder to not take things for granted. Of course you will appreciate the unusual, special experiences, but should also seek joy in the more "usual", routine-like periods of life because as I learnt even existing is a wonder itself.
