Demon Baby - October 2021
For our first project in Sculpture, we were asked to develop a design for the 2021 Halloween show within the Medicine Hat College. I developed a design of a "Demon Baby" to include within the show and created this sculpture using clay, slip casting techniques, and plaster. The technique of slip casting was a new form of sculpture design and there were a number of struggles I faced within the process. The body of the sculpture was molded and casted using a baby doll body, and the head was formed using a doll head Halloween decoration. I am grateful for all the assistance and support I received during the process of developing this sculpture as there were a number of times where the process began to cause overwhelming stress and disapproval for the procedure. Overall, I am glad to have been part of the Halloween show to showcase my hard work and thorough efforts of this sculpture.
