Djúpavatn Lake is a 0.15 km² lake south of Trölladyngju and Soga on Reykjanes peninsula, 195 meters above sea level. Its deepest part is 16.7 m and it is partly a crater. The environment of this water is extremely beautiful and peaceful. There is a lot of char in the water but it is rather small. It was considered fishless until the char of Thingvallastofn was released in it around 1960. Every year a considerable amount of trout are released into the water and a fishing hope for good all summer
