A time capsule holds a selection of representative objects from a particular moment in time and is meant
for posterity. It contains both a thought about the time we live in and a projection into the future.
Eighteen young people born between 1989 and 2001, Communication Design students at ESAD Matosinhos,
of different nationalities - Polish, Kosovar, Luso-Brazilian and Portuguese - selected, photographed
and wrote about objects from their everyday life aiming at a future observation of our time. Thus a collection and a title for a project emerged - 'For 2122: Fifty Objects of Everyday Life Capsulated in 2022'.
This publication is the outcome of a process of collaboration, sharing, searching and construction. Although the language that facilitates communication within this collective is English, it was decided that each one should use their native language – Polish, Albanian or Portuguese – assuming this choice, along with all the others that sustain the construction of this object, as a testimony to an imagined future.
