I was tasked to create a B/W thematic logo for MYX Music Awards 2014, one of the biggest music awards in the Philippines. They gave me a peg for the overall look but since I'm a huge K-Pop fan and my favorite K-Pop band used tones and stripes as their wardrobe, I decided to use the patterns on the logo.
And umm.. yeah, everything went amazing from there on.

I gave my creative head one study and just rotated the colors with this year's color theme (think purples and oranges and pastel blues). The sample above is my initial work of art. However, they told me we're gonna try to standardize the original MYX Music Awards logo look and add only a few elements to fit with the theme.
For some reason, we don't have the project file of the original MYX Music Awards so I had to do it from scratch. And then I implemented the outer border on the inner logo and called it a day. I submitted this study with lots of colors to chose from.
