SPUTNIK REBRAND CONCEPT
This is a class project where students redesigned a local business of their choosing.
I chose a local Bar and Restaurant called "Sputnik". My rebrand includes a logo, type choice, brand color scheme, and merchandise design.
The original design for this business is mainly typographic with the tittle of the eye replace by a shape that alludes to both the shape of the Sputnik as well as an olive. I thought this was a really smart design but the rest of the branding for Sputnik is very plain. I wanted to give the brand a new life. I used the Sputnik/olive imagery to create a minimalistic approach to a dirty martini. My branding choices were inspired by aesthetics of the time
of the space-race and mid-century modern design. I modernized these elements by using a cosmic dissolve pattern for merchandise and other material.
