Duality of Sin
With this project, I attempted to create this idea of the "angel" and the "devil" on your shoulder where the devil is winning. It was majorly inspired by the song "Spillways" by Ghost which is about how your religious self is a part of the past, dead and gone and buried beneath the sin you can't get rid of. I utilized multiple layering techniques to add the devil hands, the different versions of the girl, as well as creating shadows and highlights that blend the image together. I also used some masking techniques as well to make it look like the "devil girl" was behind her. This was my favorite piece that I've worked on so far as I feel it conveys a lot of emotion and hits a spot deep in my soul. One thing I feel I could have worked on better with this image is making the hands more blended into the environment.
