Waikato, New Zealand Travel Brochure

For this project, I was tasked with creating a travel brochure from a list of various locations, and I chose Waikato, New Zealand. This area is known for vast green pastures, beautiful mountains, and breathtaking caves. I, of course, could not ignore the fact that Waikato is also the home to the Hobbiton movie set from the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. Being most known as the home of the Shire, I decided to base all of the design elements and illustrations off an image of the Shire from the actual Hobbiton movie set. Additionally, this cover of the brochure displays the 12 members of the Fellowship of the Ring from the first Lord of the Rings film. I used an iconic Lord of the Rings font for all of the main titles and partnered it with a simple serif font for additional information. All of the images are placed in circle frames to both mimic the smooth, organic feeling of the hill illustrations and match the circular door in the hobbit hole illustration on the fold in panel.
