The Battle for Home! (Endrification)

Brief:
Establish a creative, strategic and practical response to an authentic and relevant social issue relating to the contextualization of space and place.

Concept:
I zoned in on the reality of gentrification. I hold this issue close to my heart, although I cannot personally claim to have suffered immense loss through the privatization of public place, which excels through the rapid expansion of capitalist-induced inequalities. ‘Endrification’ was designed to ‘house’ the multitude of housing activism groups throughout the nation, as a disconnected voice could potentially be an underlying factor of the growth and prevalence of this issue.

Key Objectives:
- Produce a platform that could potentially serve as a medium for all housing-related activist groups to connect under one banner in the aims of protesting against the sale of community properties to commercial institutions when there are existing housing inadequacies for local communities.

Solution 1: Original Logo
This logo will ultimately serve to unify and connect the many housing activist groups nationwide under one common identity with common ambitions, beliefs and emotions, upon which a genuine attention will more likely be gained.
Solution 2: Social Media Accounts
The social media platforms of the group will serve as the primary medium of which gentrification activists are able to communicate and share information.
Solution 3: YouTube Clip
This clip will serve to explain and define the specific point of focus that the group will tackle, as well as building emotional connection and investment into the group and its campaign.

Solution 4: Outdoor Posters
Outdoor posters (which can also be executed in the form of billboards) are delivered in the intention of capturing the attention of passing by community members who are interested in joining activism against gentrification in South Africa.
