Literally Lemonade is an all-natural lemonade company that will use real fruit to make a variety of lemonade flavors. Literally Lemonade strives to ensure simplicity when it comes to our ingredients. By looking at our nutrition label, consumers will be able to know what exactly is in their drink. The drink focuses on providing a healthy, organic, and natural lemonade drink.
The company strives for an eco-friendly product, from ingredients to packaging. Recycled glass and upcycled bottle caps are used to carefully craft our bottles. We are reusable, recylable, and zero-waste company. We achieve this by providing a package and bottle return system. By returning our labels, caps, and bottles we are given reusable resources for our product, while creating zero-waste. We strive to make this drink a fun, healthy option for consumers. Our fun mascot and designs allow for the heavy topic of sustainability to be more consumable for out clientele.
The process for the design of this project was a chaotic one. Originally, I was too focused on the sustainability aspect of this product that I almost missed the message I was striving for. The goal I sought was that sustainability can be delicious and fun. The outer space and cartoon aspect of the design provided this light-hearted aspect to the brand. Moving forward, I wanted to keep a 70's, Neo-psychedelic aesthetic to it. Then, for the logos, I wanted it more simple because the lemonade character was so loud. The logo would act as a balance for the design. The packaging was loud, chaotic, and most importantly fun, so it needed to be contrasted by something plain. The main font we used was Verdana, a common sans-serif font. This basic font provided the simplistic balance the design needed while providing readability. The secondary font we used was BuenaParkJF. This was used for emphasizing certain words while continuing the fun dramatic aspects of the 70's design elements. Most of the design decisions were made by referencing my design blog and my sketches. Decisions were also made after discussions with peers on my professor June Sanders. These conversations and opinions shaped my creations because I was able to obtain a different perspective on the design: showing me a new route to take.
