The Great Shaman

A shaman is a person who interacts with both the mortal world and the realm of spirits. In the past, Shaman were seen as a protectors, and occasionally leader. While the relevance of spiritual positions in various cultures cannot be denied, their comparability (or even classification) is disputed. A shaman may be able to glimpse into the future and warn against certain actions. Shamans are believed to provide cures 'through the mind,' using a variety of ritualised, symbolic activities intended to remove illness by mimetic techniques. Because their lives belong to the village, shamans are tasked with ensuring the well-being of their own and their neighbours' as well as the whole natural world. This is how shamans contribute to the well-being of individuals and the earth as a whole.
