The mission of the San Luis Obispo County Public Services Department is to promote, preserve and protect the health of all SLO County residents through disease surveillance, health education, direct services, and health policy development. Every year, it participates in National Public Health Week (NPHW), which provides education and awareness of the public health system, and its goal is to make SLO County the "healthiest nation in one generation."
