New York style became the focal point behind my inspiration, I knew I wanted to illustration a men’s wear line centered on New York.  I began by thinking of a concept that would allow for me to explore the working Male New Yorker. I wanted to focus on the dreamer, the guy who dreams of making it in New York. The guy who not only wants to find success but Love as well.  So I came up with a story I thought would best express the scene that kept running through my mind. This story set in New York, about a struggling writer who works at a diner and writes a secret love letter to a woman he barley knows. The love letter which soon becomes one of New York’s best sellers and a story of his love to a woman who he dreams of having a future with someday. I chose the scene of a New York diner because of its history and the relaxed atmosphere. Choosing colors of Beige, slate green and chocolate to best illustrate my concept. And using the dreamer, the working male New Yorker to explain my aesthetic. Which is a youthful but fun take on a dreamer in New York. His styles very fun and relaxed with a tailor fit. He may be a working man who dresses for comfort but knows that his belt should always match his shoes.
My customers are men from the ages of 18 to 28, the youthful male who shops to not only want to look cool but comfortable as well. He is the driven male, the after college hopeful, the dreamer.  His style is different mixing overalls with cool casual sweaters, trench coats with drop crotch pants and sports jackets with slim fitting sweatpants. Brands such as Urban Outfitters and even H&M appeal to this male. But more specifically brands such as Zanerobe created by Leith Testoni and Jonathon Yeo are and Public School created by Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne are the two popular brands I see my customer shopping. Their youthful style and innovative looks are what my target customer looks for in clothing.
