‘The need to respect our flag’ is a poster created during the 2014 academic year. It gave a critical message to the public about respecting the National Flag. A flag is more than just a representative of a nation. It also reflects the values and ideals that bind the country together. It symbolizes the struggles that were endured and conquered in establishing this identity. The flag is unique to the land and the people who live on it.
Most people celebrate Independence Day by waving a flag. After the ceremony, they throw it down as garbage. It gets damaged and destroyed along the way. When a flag is disfigured or stepped upon, it is an act of violation.
With this poster, I wanted to send a message to people that violation of the flag is a punishable crime. As our flag represents the land we live on, a lack of respect for the national flag means a lack of respect for our nation.
