I've done the creative for the past Five Canada Day Celebrations for Halifax City Municipality but this was by far the most rewarding as I worked with the Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre and the HRM internal Indigenous team and government of Canada to bring their ideas to life on screen. We wanted to make this piece was authentic as possible bringing Indigenous culture to modern Halifax scenes. I illustrated inukshuks on ice, birch bark teepees, wi'kuomk, and traditional long houses with their direction as it was very important to me to capture everything they wanted present. We were all very happy with the turn out and the event was incredible. I love to see the city I love work towards making our home a better place for everyone.
