Digital Summer Camp

Digital Summer Camp
We were part of an education initiative to digitally enlighten kids whose schools don’t have the facilities to do so. Our first task was to develop a magazine for schools and colleges to excite and enthuse pupils. The client wanted to take what W.I.R.E.D magazine do for the ‘tech-geeks’ in all of us and gear it towards the next generation of ‘digital heroes’. A website was also produced for online presence.

The next step was for create ‘Digital Summer Camp’. A three day event that would welcome the world’s best digital leaders, entrepreneurs and producers to showcase their wares to 3,000 pupils from around the UK. Big hitters including O2, Blackberry, Lego were in attendance on the day which was backed by the Mayor of London and visited by Prince Andrew, The Duke of York as part of his interest in the UKs Innovation and Skills. The days main purpose was of course to give pupils the opportunity to trial exciting digital workshops, test innovative new gadgets and technology, enter competitions to win fantastic prizes and gain exposure to the inner workings of the digital economy. On the day TheCreativeArms set up a photo booth where the children could be instantly transported onto the cover of the magazine as ‘Stars of the Future’ and produced print-outs as a keepsake of the day.
