Bangalore City Bus Route Map
Bus route maps have always been quite overwhelming for most people. I intended to make the map-reading experience rewarding, easy and efficient. I studied some of the successful map design projects from across the world and took inspiration.
This map tries to keep the simplicity from the London Underground but maintains a sense of direction and orientation for the traveller. The iconography has been developed to clearly focus on three things for any bus route - start point, route taken, and end point. It is also intended to work as a system that could be replicated in all bus terminals of the city. Due to the minimal amount of "words", this could also be easily translated into the local language.
