EBEE'S BUG GRUB FOODTRUCK | BRANDING

Ebee's Bug Grub by Jordan, Jessica, and Emily
For this group project we were tasked with coming up with a foodtruck that serves bugs as its main course. Our group goal was to come up with a design that made people who think eating bugs is gross want to actually try it.

Insights from Our Research
 - Eating bugs may seem strange to Americans, but it is common in other parts of the world and even in some American states, such as Louisiana, and African countries (Democratic Republic of Congo), Australia, and Mexico.
 - An insect diet has nutritional benefits as they are a good source of protein, fat, and amino acids.
 - Much of the hesitation from eating bugs comes from the sight of them, but people are much more likely to eat bugs if they did not appear like bugs.
 - We chose to invoke the theme of a circus for our design solution. The circus has a history of being a place where anomalies and social pariahs were put on exhibition for the public to see. The public would entertain themselves through the shock and surprise of witnessing a circus act. Over time the public sentiment on the circus changed and they became centers for enjoyment and spectacle. That is the part of the circus' history that we want to instill in our design solution. Although a bug diet seems strange now, we want to show the public that it can be joyful and beneficial to eat bugs.
 - The name comes from Ebe, which is the translation for bug in an African tribal language.
 - The design solution works because it leverages the fun of a circus to ease some of the hesitation that comes with eating bugs.

We had a few other design ideas before we got to the circus design. Our circus design actually came from some of our other designs, we then later moved more towards that direction. We improved greatly in our comps.
