< C jjack >은 앵무새 관찰 카메라와 놀이터를 결합한 디자인 프로젝트입니다. 앵무새의 건강관리를 도와줄 수 있는 관찰 카메라와 낯선 것에 대한 경계심이 많은 앵무새에게 친근하게 다가갈 수 있는 놀이터를 결합하여 앵무새의 건강관리 솔루션을 제안합니다.

< C jjack > is a design project which presents the combination of parrot observation camera and playground. The observation camera can help with parrots’ health care and the playground can provide parrots, which are wary of unfamiliar things, an easily enjoyable place. With these two combined, you can be offered healthcare solutions for parrots.

Background

앵무새는 피식자이기 때문에 본능적으로 아픈 기색을 보이게 되면 야생에서 도태된다는 것을 알고 있어 아프더라도 몸을 제어하지 못할 정도로 병이 심해질 때까지 티를 내지 않습니다.

또한 개나 고양이처럼 일반화되어있는 애완동물에 비해 앵무새는 정보가 확연히 적은 편입니다. 그렇기에 앵무새를 키우는 사람들은 평소 상태를 늘 관찰하고 건강할 때의 상태를 잘 기억해두어야 합니다.

As parrots are preys in the wild, they instinctively know that they would be culled if they show their illness. Therefore, breeders cannot see if their parrots are ill until they get seriously ill and groggy.

Furthermore, breeders are provided with much less information for parrots, compared to popular pets like dogs and cats. Accordingly, parrot breeders must observe their parrots’ condition regularly and remember what they look like in their best condition.

겉으로 알 수 있는 앵무새 건강상태

1. 과도한 수면(정상적인 앵무새는 경계하고 주변 환경과 상호작용합니다)

2. 앵무새는 아프면 먹을 것부터 먹지 않습니다. 식습관의 변화에는 문제가 있을 수 있습니다.

3. 외관의 상태(상처, 깃털의 상태, 눈 코 입의 분비물)

1. Excessive sleep (Normally parrots look about and interact with the surroundings)

2. When parrots are sick, they are off their food first. There can be problems when their eating habits change.

3. Appearance (wounds, condition of feathers, discharge from eyes, nose, and ears)

Fluid rotation is available so that the breeder can organize the playground as he or she likes.

The camera and the perch are detachable and can be put wherever the breeder wants.

바닥면은 무게를 잴 수 있게끔 저울 장치가 있어 반려조의 무게를 잴 수 있습니다. 평상시에는 먹이를 급여할 때 무게를 측정하는 계량 장치로 사용할 수 있고, 산책 시에는 앵무새의 몸무게 변화를 알 수 있습니다.

소재는 평상시 앵무새가 활용하는 발톱갈이 횃대처럼 어느 정도 거친 면으로 구성된 플라스틱으로 선정하였습니다. 이를 통해 앵무새는 바닥면에 부리를 긁거나 발톱을 갈면서 시간을 보낼 수 있습니다.

A scale to weigh parrots is installed on the floor. It can be used to see their weights while feeding, and also to see the weight change while taking a walk with them.

Plastic, some parts of which are harsh to a degree, is chosen for the material. As it is the same material for the claw-sharpening perches the parrots usually use, parrots are able to pass time scratching their beaks or claws on the floor
