Cigarette Recycling Posters
A campaign promoting cigarette butt recycling, not matter the location
This project was completed during my time interning with Terracycle. Terracycle France has been working with their partners to facilitate the recycling of cigarette butts. Instead of contaminating the environment, these butts would be collected in receptacles placed in public places and recycled. The recycling process transforms this waste into functional items such as plastic pallets, while any remaining tobacco can be used in composting. This poster series was used to promote this recycling program in 3 different types of locales: a beach, a ski resort and a café. These posters were approved for use by Terracycle France and the participating municipalities. The headline allows passersby to know that any cigarette butts collected in these receptacles will be recycled. The text at the bottom allows them to know this program is sponsored by the municipality. The municipality can easily cover them with a sticker if they'd like to display their own logo, otherwise the general message is displayed.
