Hidden Layers of Perception

These images are part of an ongoing series of multiple exposure photographs that I’ve taken in my local forest. They are visual excerpts of a path that I have walked at least 200 times a year for the last 10 years. Yet, depending on the season, weather, light, my mood and mindset, I still uncover new views that were hidden to me until this moment of discovery. I use multiple exposures to emphasise this multilayeredness and this state of invisibility until the moment of perception.

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.
Henry David Thoreau

This series is also featured in my hand bound booklet of the same name, which I self-published in 2022. The book was made as an edition of 25. 5 books are still available at the moment. You can find out a bit more about it in the video at the bottom of this entry.
