The man with kitties in the left photo is Uladzimir Karatkievič, one of the best Belarussian writers of the 20th century. On the right, he is holding characters of his wonderful children's fairy tales. This is the title illustration of a very special project called PADKAZKI - the audio fairy tales project.
Karatkievič, a Belarusian writer who adored the forgotten through the efforts of the Soviet and Post Soviet authorities history and language of my country. He also tenderly loved all the children and animals of this world. I’ve made a series of illustratios for the PADKAZKI audio fairy tales. The tales were read by the actors of the Kupala Theater who spoke out against the regime in 2020. None of them could stay in Belarus. All fairy tales are read in biełaruskaja mova, my native and endangered language.
