Technology that feels natural

Genki wants to present creative people with a more humanized way to create. When we were beginning to draw out the first objectives of our project, we instantly clicked with their team thanks to their contagious fascination with innovative technology. Their state-of-the-art wearable hardware paired, with their professional-grade music software was a great source of inspiration. It also served as a good indicator of what kind of digital product we're expected to deliver.

S C O P E O F W O R K

A website with a human touch

A unique and minimalist product called for a clean and modern website, which immerses you with smoothness and fluidity of human motion, reflecting the features that distinguish their products. The goal was to guarantee the brand a professional look, without overwhelming the user with a feeling of being crushed by the amount of data. Our project encompassed an entirely new headless website, a blog feature, and a functional, custom e-commerce based on Shopify.

A P P R O A C H

Better together

Our relationship with the Genki Instruments team blossomed when we mutually agreed on the importance of feedback. It was very much a mutual work, where each side offered valuable design insights and suggested compelling arguments on what was the best way forward. A new look for their website, and a new background for their innovative products, was to sever ties with the previous, overly flashy, gadgety, and sometimes infantile appearance. That's why you'll easily notice mature design decisions throughout the project.

O P T I M I Z E D F O R M O B I L E

Friendly for mobile users

We made sure that the website looks and performs great on mobile devices as well. This is where the ingenious simplicity and modernity of the whole project are especially noticeable, as stylish backgrounds are broken here and there by a handful of blood-orange buttons and bite-sized chunks of text. If you're a fan of clear delivery of data, you'll surely find it easy to fall in love with the mobile version of the website.

The website grasps the user's attention by alternating between several backgrounds and text color combinations. We went with a striking blood-orange, bright gray and a trusted black & white contrast to ensure optimal readability, as well as a compromise between energetic maturity and captivating, joyful design.

Language of motion

It was a big, brave, and bold project, mainly thanks to the imagination of our icon designers running wild. They did a tremendous job with these one-of-a-kind animated icons, which dance and transform in a hypnotic, fluid way. Their function was to offer an evocative visual explanation, describing the gestures and motions the user of Genki's wearable can perform to communicate with the device.

In the spirit of a slightly clichéd, albeit still valuable slogan "less is more", we've came up with a mature, clear, modern; simple-yet-engaging headless website with an integrated, custom e-commerce platform to give Genki the extra edge over their rivals. The final digital product is a celebration of minimalist approach, very much in line with a straight-to-the-point style of the Scandinavian approach to business.
