Finger Painting Reimagined

THE BRIEF

For one sleepless night, people from all over the world participated in a magical all night art event called Nuit Blanche. Our mission was to create a multi-person experience that engaged people in a unique interactive art experience using artists and technologists commissioned from across Canada, the US and Europe.

THE IDEA
"FLUXE - FINGER PAINTING. REINVENTED."

The core idea was inspired by the art of finger painting when we were kids. We wanted to keep the tactile feeling of moving your finger across a surface to create something unique and juxtapose it with vibrant brush palettes and new technology. The result was FLUXe, an interactive art installation. We commissioned 9 world-renowned artists to create digital brush patterns set to unique audio tracks. Throughout the night people collectively painted on tablets and smart phones creating dynamically animated brush patterns projected on a 100ft digital canvas. In one night over 30,000 people viewed the installation and saved over 1,500 pieces of user generated art, curated and shared to a custom online gallery.
