Waves is my thesis comic for T.E.I. of Athens, Graphic Design Department. I decided to show my love for merfolk (again), so it ended up being a story about the Queen of the Underwater Kingdom and her adventure to our world in order to solve the mystery of who tried to kill her. She travels together with her God servant to find Neleus, a merman on exile, who might help her.
The project includes also an A5 booklet, a haiku poem anthology with original illustrations from the comic. The poets include famous greek poets like George Seferis and also various Asian and European poets. The concept idea was that haiku is a poetry that allows you to travel in just three lines and it creates very strong imagery. I wanted to visualise those images.
