In response to the damage caused by Hurrican Sandy in 2012, an information center was placed along the Atlantic City boardwalk. Dunescape serves as an outlet for safety information in preparation and memoriam of this natural disaster. It also acts as a site feature which showcases two contrasting experiences of Atlantic City.
Acting as a vertical extension of the atlantic city boardwalk, Dunescape harmonizes two opposing experiences of this location: the liveliness of its commercial strip and the tranquility of the sea.
