The "Lishan Art Space" in Taipei opened its first exhibition, "42.195 Eco-manner," on September 15, 2022. The exhibition invited extreme marathon runner Lee Chi, forest sound performer Chen Pei-yuan, fiber artist Cheng An-li, and ecological observer Peng Yu-tzu to reinterpret responses to sustainability issues in different dimensions and forms. The space's owner, Felisa Dai, hopes to use immersive experiences that engage all five senses to reconnect people with the environment in the post-pandemic era.

"Sustainable development" has been a much-discussed topic in modern times and will be a long-distance race for this generation and the future. In recent years, the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed our way of life, making "environment" a top priority. 42.195 KM was the distance that Athenian soldiers ran from the Marathon plain to Athens to deliver news of victory in ancient Greece. Our sustainable journey is like a marathon, and with persistent effort, we will eventually reach our goals. By creating different media works that intersect with nature and urban environments, just as we face pandemic life, we use our senses to transform the sweat and scenery of this sustainable marathon into beautiful nutrients that nourish everyone's progress, step by step, through vision, smell, taste, hearing, and touch.

We aim to convey the exhibition's concept of sustainable development through the process of deconstruction and reconstruction, using the materials of the exhibited artworks. Our plan is to scatter these objects throughout the L-shaped space of Lishan Art Space, and then gently gather them into a planet shape. This represents the idea that sustainable development is a marathon and requires a long-term commitment to creating an ideal environment.
