Go Bananas
At a local park, I chose a banana as my subject. (No bananas were harmed during the photo shoot.)

I had a friend help me out with this project and let him come up with some cool ways to hold the banana. Here he was holding the banana between his thumb and index finger, pinky extended. It gave off a feeling of fanciness, and the sky in the background was beautiful.

This one is my personal favorite, here the banana is seemingly floating. I had my lovely assistant toss the banana in the air and I took some rapid shots of it flipping through the air. This photo was the best result, it’s uncomfortably unreal and that’s what I like about it.

In this image the banana is stuck in a fence, I really was fond of the way the shadows of the fence were cast on to the subject. No it was a bit difficult to get it to stay in place. I definitely think it was worth it and is a funny photo about feeling trapped.

In this image the banana was placed on a round pedestal that is also yellow. The sun was really beaming and I really liked the way that it highlighted parts of the fruit and the shadow that it cast onto the surface.  I also really like the Way the ground is blurred in this photo.

This photo might be the saddest I’ve ever taken. I’m not sure why the banana sitting on the swing like that gives a lonely, melancholy feeling. My hypothesis is because it’s slouched over on its side instead of being upright.

Here is another way of holding the fruit that my friend had come up with. This one was his personal favorite because it looks as though the banana is emerging from his hands. I like the way that his fingers frame the subject.

In this photo the sun was shining Through some trees in the distance and onto a picnic table. If you were to look up ”banana” I don’t think there are many images that could encapsulate the essence of a banana any better. If I could change one thing about it, I would’ve liked the table to be cleaner.

In this image the banana is placed on a guard post meant for stopping cars from driving through the area. What I really like about this one is the detail that was captured with the paint cracking off the post. I also like the shadow that the banana casts onto it showing a separation between the two yellow objects.

In this photo I had my friend pose next to me with the fruit in the photo on the ground. I wanted to make it look like his shadow was dunking the banana into the shadow of the net. I really like this one, it is one of my favorites.

In this photo, I had my friend hold two branches together with the banana in between them to create the illusion of it still being in the tree. I really like the way the sun shines through the leaves of the tree.
