Experience Design: White Sands National Park

White Sands National Park
Project statement
For this project, I created three designs for White Sands National Park. These designs were made with the intent to improve the experience of visitors to the sight. The intended audience is a family going on a trip to the park.
Podcast cover
This podcast is for people who want to learn more about White Sands National park. It would have information on the gypsum sand that the park is surrounded with, and more history behind the landmark. I created a colorful cover to contrast from the white scenery at the park. I wanted to express the exciting and fun experience that people have when visiting the park while also showing the movement of the sand on the cover.
Mesh lined tote bag
The tote bag design is intended for people that have a National Park membership. The idea is that members would receive this bag in the visitors center before exploring the park. The bag is lined with mesh so that the sand can easily fall through and away from the carriers items. From personal experience of visiting the park, this would have been very helpful in carrying items like sunglasses to block the suns reflection off the sand and other items I wouldn't want to get covered in sand.
Parking sign and pass
This design is also intended for members of the National Parks. Members would be able to park front row to the visitors center, and they would receive a parking pass to alert workers they are able to park there. This would give members easy access to the park and reduce time of searching for a parking spot.
