The Mighty Macro
The Mighty Macro is a nine-key keyboard that communicates shortcuts for Arduino coding over Bluetooth.
The keypad is driven by an ESP32 microcontroller and powered by a 1800mAh LiPo battery. All of the components were connected and surface mounted onto a custom two layer PCB board, which was designed using Easy EDA.
The acrylic face plate and key caps were raster engraved by laser cutter with the icons pictured below. A needle was then used to inject enamel into the cavities to color them.
The Mighty Macro was coded with Arduino IDE software. The nine functions it performs include shortcuts for Verify, Save, Upload, Auto Align, Search, and Open Serial Monitor as well as functions for writing a for loop, if statement, and array. The code can be found in the repository below:
