Tbilisi Street life. Georgia
Tbilisi. I visited this charming city during my trip to Georgia in September 2022. I want to show you my photo essay about my trip to the place, not through the photos of popular attractions, but through life of the streets, courtyards and markets.
Streets, local stores and kiosks
Sometimes, the best way to get to know the place is by walking without any particular aim or goal. Just watch what locals do, what they eat and drink. In Tbilisi it is very easy, because everything is literally happening outside. While walking you see lots of little stores with fruits and vegetables, sweets and pastries. Also, the streets in Tbilisi are places for people to socialize - meet, talk, play games.
Outdoor courtyards
Most of the courtyards in Tbilisi are open, so of course I went inside to see them. I loved those cozy old houses with balconies, and laundry drying on the rope made it even more charming. Sometimes people were standing at the balconies, some of them were talking to each other. And cats, There were cats in almost every courtyard I visited.
Local markets
Of course markets. Those were the most lively areas. The most interesting to photograph.
Dry Bridge Flea Market
People sell different soviet vintage things (clothes, watches, posters, cutlery and many more), carpets, paintings, traditional souvenirs. It also felt like a place where men gathered to talk and play games.
Market near Didube bus station
I left from Tbilisi for Stepansminda (Kazbegi) from Didube Bus Station. Besides the station itself, there is a street market. While waiting for a bus, I got to take some pictures there. There were a lot of things happening at the same time. Bus drivers were calling people to join the bus ride, sellers were talking to customers and praising their products. So much movement and noise around.
Hope you enjoyed walking the streets of Tbilisi with me.
